This week, LocoItalia took delivery of the new Siemens Vectron A35 E193 995 interoperable locomotive, worth approximately €5 million. With the new Vectron, of the “DAI-East” type—which has the unique feature of being able to operate on the electrified networks of Italy, Austria, Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, Czechoslovakia, Slovakia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Slovenia, and Croatia—the number of electric locomotives in the LocoItalia fleet rises to eight.
FVG Rail technicians handled the handover of the locomotive, applying the new LocoItalia logo with the Italian tricolor, which will gradually be extended to all locomotives in the fleet.
